Changes in Nordea's Group Leadership Team

Nordea has established a strong foundation during the past years, which will enable long-term advantages based on technology and scale. To further support strategy execution, the current Group Business Support function will be divided into two new units: Group Technology and Group Business Support. Kirsten Renner and Mads Skovlund Pedersen are appointed new members of the Group Leadership Team. As a consequence of these changes, Erik Ekman will step down from the Group Leadership Team and as Head of Group Business Support. These changes will take effect as of 1 February 2025.
Kirsten Renner, current Head of Group Technology, is appointed a member of the Group Leadership Team. Kirsten has successfully delivered in her role, creating business value through her deep understanding of technology and her strong leadership skills. She has long experience with technology and digital transformation in the banking industry. Kirsten joined Nordea in 2022.
Mads Skovlund Pedersen, current Head of Personal Banking in Denmark, is appointed Head of Group Business Support and a member of the Group Leadership Team. He will continue as Country Senior Executive in Denmark. Mads has delivered strong results through his customer-centric and operational leadership. He has a strong and versatile business understanding, which will strengthen execution. Mads joined Nordea in 2000.

It has been agreed, as a consequence of the change, that Erik Ekman will step down from his current role as Head of Group Business Support and as a member of the Group Leadership Team.

His insightfulness and ability to navigate complex environments have been essential in executing on the technology strategy and driving process optimisation. The appointments are pending regulatory approval.
