SWECO: Sweco key partner in future-proofing the electricity grid in Eastern Denmark
The Danish distribution system operators Cerius-Radius and their joint service company Nexel have selected Sweco to be a key partner in developing the electricity grid in Eastern Denmark. Sweco's order value is estimated at about DKK 400 million over five years.
In pace with Denmark advancing its climate ambitions, the electrification journey is taking off, and distribution system operators Cerius-Radius and their service company Nexel face a huge task in expanding and developing Eastern Denmark's electricity grid to meet the growing demand.
"Sweco plays an important role as an advisor in accelerating the green energy transition in Denmark, and we are excited to contribute our expertise in this new collaboration to future-proof the electrical grid in Eastern Denmark," says Dariush Rezai, Business Area President of Sweco in Denmark.
Sweco will provide Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services under the agreement that entered force on 17th January and that extends until 2030. After the five-year term there is also the possibility of three further one-year extensions.
Sweco has a long-term relationship with Cerius-Radius and Nexel and has advised on cable and substation projects as well as on large demand-side installations over the past decades.
