AF Gruppen's subsidiary, Kanonaden Entreprenad, in consortium with Hitachi
Energy, has been awarded the contract to install seven new series compensation
stations in central and northern Sweden. The contract is a turnkey project, with
Kanonaden's share amounting to just over SEK 900 million excluding VAT.
The project includes the construction of new series compensation stations,
including associated control buildings, storage, and backup power facilities.
Kanonaden is also responsible for construction management, earthworks, site
security, foundation work for buildings and high-voltage installations, as well
as the installation and assembly of high-voltage equipment. The power quality
solution for the project is designed and supplied by Hitachi Energy.
Svenska kraftnät has an option to order an additional three series compensation
stations. The option is valued at approximately MSEK 400 excluding VAT.
The new series compensation stations will accelerate the energy transition and
enable improved transmission capacity for Sweden's electricity grid. Series
compensation provides increased power supply, lower risk of downtime and less
environmental impact.
"We are proud to contribute to strengthening Sweden's power grid and to continue
our collaboration with Svenska Kraftnät and Hitachi Energy," says Amund Tøftum,
CEO of AF Gruppen.
