Fasadgruppen grows in the Mälardalen area through acquisition of Liab Plåtbyggarna
Fasadgruppen is strengthening its sheet metal work operations in the Mälardalen area through the acquisition of Liab Plåtbyggarna AB (“Liab”)
Liab is based in Södertälje and was founded in 1999 through the merger of Liab Tak & Fasadplåt and Plåtbyggarna i Södertälje AB. Today, the company offers sheet metal, forging and assembly work as well as steel halls throughout Mälardalen. The company has a well-established customer portfolio including framework agreements with Södertälje municipality, among others. Liab has 46 full-time employees, and for the financial year 2024, its revenues amounted to approximately SEK 80 million.
Peter Polland, Country Manager Fasadgruppen Sweden said: “We have good experiences from previous collaborations with Liab and are pleased to now welcome them to Fasadgruppen. Liab has a strong market position in the Mälardalen area and will complement our existing business well with opportunities for collaboration within the group”.
Linus Ericsson, CEO of Liab said: “Since the start 25 years ago, we have built a strong position and well-established teams in our three business areas of forging, building sheet metal work and hall construction. We are positive about the future, our capacity, the demand for our services and the opportunity to take further steps on our journey as part of Fasadgruppen."
Fasadgruppen acquires 80 percent of Liab with an option to purchase the remaining shares, owned by Liab’s existing management, after three and five years respectively. Fasadgruppen is using existing cash and available credit facilities to finance the acquisition. The seller has undertaken to re-invest part of the purchase price by acquiring existing shares in Fasadgruppen within the next three months following completion for an amount corresponding to SEK 4.5 million. The shares bought under the re-investment are subject to a lock-up commitment for 36 months.
