MVW signs long-term Frame and Cooperation Agreement for NORWAFLOC® in Agricultural Manure Recycling Operations in Germany

Bergen, Norway, February 25, 2025 – M Vest Water (MVW) announces that it today has been awarded a five-year Frame and Cooperation Agreement for the supply of NORWAFLOC® and services to VERDE VISION GmbH (VERDE) in Germany. The agreement has a duration of 5 years and applies to agricultural manure dewatering in Germany and Europe.

The potential for the agreement is substantial. In Germany alone, 190 million cubic meters of liquid manure are used annually on fields and crops. Around 135,000 German agricultural holdings use liquid manure. Removing nitrogen, phosphorus, and solids from the liquid slurry manure that is currently used has a significant environmental impact, as it drastically reduces nutrient leakage into rivers and lakes. MVW’s NORWAFLOC® has been proven to transfer the nitrogen and phosphorus to the dry solids phase during separation, contributing to a substantially more eco-friendly farming.

VERDE supplies farmers mobile treatment units and also offers operational services. These units separate the solid and liquid manure. The liquid becomes a valuable liquid fertilizer the farmers can use for eco-friendly irrigation of fields and crops, as excess nitrogen and phosphorus are removed into the solid fraction. The solid fraction, rich in nitrogen and phosphorus, is processed into a dry, high-nutrient bio-gas feedstock or fertilizer for commercial use.

The concept is tailored to meet regulations applicable to Germany and EU. The concept has been proven and classified to achieve substantial CO2 emission reductions for farmers. According to regulations, VERDE will issue official CO2 certificates to farmers applying their concept.

MVW’s natural ecofriendly NORWAFLOC® is a key element in separating solids and liquids in VERDE’s treatment process. Synthetic polymers are not used, and MVW currently offers the only viable natural product for this application.

“We are very pleased to have signed this Frame and Cooperation Agreement with VERDE. Agricultural manure is a large and growing market. Environmental awareness drives incentives and regulation towards recycling and a circular economy. NORWAFLOC® can by this cooperation with VERDE contribute to sustainable agriculture,” says Tor Olav Gabrielsen, Executive Chairman at MVW.
