Oslo, Norway - October 14, 2024 - NEXT Biometrics (OSE: NEXT), a global leader
in advanced fingerprint sensor technology, announced the first major purchase
order and successful delivery of 3,000 units of its FAP20 biometrics sensor to
national security and identification solutions in Malaysia.
This order marks the company's first mass production order targeted for Malaysia
featuring NEXT's cutting-edge Active Thermal® technology. It is a key strategic
initiative that replaces a competitor's product. This is a design win that was
earlier communicated as a part of the number of design wins added in Q2 2024.
"We are thrilled to announce our first major order and delivery to Malaysia, a
market with growing demand for advanced biometrics solutions. This order is a
major step forward in a new market for our technology and products, and it
aligns very well with NEXT's commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and
scalable biometric systems for mission-critical applications, says Joshua Chiu,
Senior Vice President, Greater China."
The NEXT FAP20 product is part of an OEM product enhancing Malaysia's national
identification systems. The system offers unparalleled performance and
reliability, setting a new standard for secure identity verification. If the
Malaysian market responds positively, further orders are anticipated,
solidifying the collaboration between NEXT Biometrics and the OEM to meet future
demands across various sectors.
