Cleanup operations at the accident site and damage assessment are underway. According to preliminary investigations, the damage does not appear to be severe."The accident was serious, but it did not cause any personal injuries. Our staff acted exemplary according to safety regulations, and cooperation with the rescue authorities worked seamlessly. This hazardous situation highlighted the importance of preparedness and safety training, which are extremely important when working in challenging conditions," states Mikko Jalasto, the CEO of Sotkamo Silver.The accident site was located in the mine's main tunnel. However, the main power lines and ventilation ducts ran along a different route.
